Video captured by drone reveals just how devastating the destruction has been in a Damascus suburb where the buildings might be divided into two categories: partially damaged and totally demolished.
As the drone camera makes its way from one block to the next, it seems there is no end in sight to the complete and utter ruin characterizing today’s suburb of Jobar.
The Burden of Damascus: “..Behold, Damascus is Taken Away From Being a City and it Shall be a Ruinous Heap..” – Isaiah 17:1 [Torah and Holy Bible]

“Apocalyptic scenes of Damascus suburb obliterated by violent clashes” was how RT described the drone video which the Russian network obtained.
By contrast, here’s how RT described what Jobar was like five years ago:
Before the conflict in Syria erupted in 2011, the neighborhood was home to some 300,000 residents, most of whom were Sunni Muslims. The suburb contained a number of ancient landmarks, most notably the Green Synagogue, the oldest Jewish synagogue in the world. It also contained the Grand Jobar Mosque in addition to the tomb of the Prophet Elijah. Jobar also housed ancient baths that were built during Ottoman times.
The clashes continue in Jobar between the Syrian Army and rebel forces aiming to oust Syrian President Bashar Assad. The suburb is now in the hands of rebels.

Four Christians have been beaten up in Berlin, Germany’s capital city, in the early hours of Saturday morning.
German media reports that four men were leaving the Adagio venue in the bustling Potzdamer Platz area when they were challenged by a man who exclaimed: “I am a Muslim! What are you?” before setting upon the four 20-somethings. He was reportedly assisted by four, older accomplices.
Police are now investigating the incident as a politically motivated attack, and at least five people are thought to have been injured in the melee, including one passer by who tried to settle the dispute.
The injured apparently refused medical treatment, and police records indicated they were from Serbia and Montenegro, and are Orthodox Christians.
According to the Tagespiegel newspaper, the venue in the heart of Berlin was hosting a “Balkan Party” in the evening on Christmas Day.
The assailants fled the scene before police arrived, and there have been no reports yet as to their whereabouts.

At least seven Christian farmers have been
killed [murdered] as Muslim guerrillas launched a series of attacks in the troubled southern Philippines, the military says.
The fighters of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) seized the seven and then
killed [murdered] them in a series of raids on the island of Mindanao where Christian-Muslim conflicts have seethed for decades.
About 150 fighters of the BIFF launched assaults in different, mainly-Christian, towns before dawn, local military commander Colonel Ricky Bunayog said.
“They abducted farmers and then
killed [murdered] them. When we attempted to recover their bodies, they fired on us,” he said in the southern town of Tukuran, one of the the group’s targets.
He said that four of the guerrillas were reportedly also slain in the fighting about 775 kilometres south of Manila but villagers said their bodies were carried off by their comrades.
The attackers had since dispersed but the military was planning a “counter-action,” Mr Bunayog said, although he would not disclose details.
BIFF spokesman Abu Misry Mama confirmed they were behind the attacks, saying it was over a land dispute. He would not elaborate.
In Manila, military spokesman Colonel Restituto Padilla said the guerrillas may have launched the attack “to make a statement,” ahead of the Christian holiday of Christmas.
The Philippines is overwhelmingly Christian but has a Muslim minority that claims the south as their homeland.
The BIFF split from the main Muslim rebel group, the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), in 2008.
It has opposed a peace process between the Government and the MILF for the creation of a Muslim autonomous area in the south and has vowed to keep fighting for a separate Islamic State (IS).
Last year, the BIFF uploaded clips on YouTube showing one of its leaders pledging support for the IS organisation, the jihadist group that has seized a large swathe of territory in Iraq and Syria.
This is the BIFF (Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters)
The BIFF and the MILF are a large and growing force of evil in the Philippines.

Another Innocent Woman Murdered by the Hands of a Muslim. Murdered by the Tenets of Islam…

Lisa Akbari, a dual Afghan-American citizen, had worked as a human terrain team analyst and with NGOs in Afghanistan.
An Afghan-American woman who used to work for the US army was shot dead by a mullah in a residential area of Kabul on Sunday night, according to officials.
Lisa Akbari, a dual Afghan-American citizen, had an Afghan father and grew up in the US.
She first worked in Afghanistan in 2009 with the US army as a human terrain team analyst, engaging with local women on patrols in some of Afghanistan’s most dangerous areas to help the US military better understand communities and earn their trust.
She later worked with World Vision and continued her efforts with Afghan women with other NGOs in Afghanistan, including with women’s shelters.
Ms Akbari was killed at around 8pm on Sunday night by a mullah inside a gym in the Kart-e-Char area of Kabul, according to Colonel Faridoon Obaidy, head of the Kabul police criminal investigation department.
Col Obaidy confirmed the mullah was arrested close to the scene. The suspect resisted arrest and was injured, he said, while a security official said a police officer opened fire and seriously wounded the man.
Due to the suspect’s injuries, police did not yet know the motive behind the killing, said Col Obaidy. “We will start the investigation as soon as he has recovered,” he added.
Local sources said that evidence later found in the suspect’s home suggested he may have links with extremist groups. Police declined to confirm these reports, saying the investigation continued.
Local news outlets suggested the gym may have been in the same building where she lived.
Unlike many foreigners in Kabul that reside behind large concrete blast walls and armed guards, Ms Akbari lived in a low-profile apartment building, without major security infrastructure, where other Afghan families resided.
A US official at the embassy in Kabul confirmed her death and passed on condolences, but declined to give further details, according to NBC News.
Friends and family paid tribute to Ms Akbari on Facebook on Monday, calling her a “beautiful soul” and “brave and bold”.
“R.I.P. to my beautiful older sister Lisa,” wrote her sister, Mayana Aliah Akbari. “You were taken soon and very suddenly while in Afghanistan…I know God got back his Angel and is proud of you for all that you’ve done on Earth.”
Ms Akbari avoided telling people about her previous roles with the US army, according to one of her friends. But if someone with extremist links had discovered she previously worked with the US army, that could have made her vulnerable to attack, they said.

Although the motive behind the attack against Ms Akbar is unknown, Afghans who are known to have worked for the US army also regularly face threats from the Taliban.
The UN, embassies and a number of foreign NGOs in Kabul have stepped up security measures in recent months, concerned about the heightened possibility of attacks.
On 30 November, the US embassy in Kabul issued a statement warning US citizens to exercise “extreme caution” if moving around Kabul. On December 11, the Taliban hit the Spanish embassy in Kabul in a complex attack, killing two Spanish security officers and four Afghans.
