Three young men were arrested for alleged ‘aggravated rape’ after they broadcasted a live video on Facebook, showing how they sexually assaulted a woman from Uppsala. Hundreds of people were able to watch the horrifying scene on Facebook.
During the live stream, witnesses said that one of the suspects pulled out a gun and threatened the viewers. Police arrival on the crime scene was also filmed, according to Upsala Nya Tidning, a Swedish newspaper.

Several witnesses who alerted the local media said the crime happened around 3:30 am and was live-streamed on a close group page on Facebook. Swedish police have also been contacted by large numbers of witnesses of the sexual assault.
The viewers also witnessed the arrival of the police at the apartment where the alleged assault happened until the live video was ended.
The Swedish police confirmed they were able to capture the three suspects who broadcasted the video.
A witness, Josefine Lundgren ‘immediately’ alerted the police after she saw the horrifying scene on the live video.
“He (one of the suspects) pulled off her clothes and lay on top of her (the victim),” Lundgren said.
Meanwhile, one of the viewers from Ånge said that one of the suspects took out a gun, threatened and challenged the viewers to come at the crime scene.
“This is insane”, she told Expressen. “Only sick people could do such a thing … I hope these guys are ashamed, and that they sit and think about what they have done.”
According to the biggest Swedish online discussion forum, Flashback, Facebook users who claimed to witness the live broadcast of the alleged assault were able to identify the assailants; the trio were believed to have a Middle Eastern appearance.
Several screen-captured pictures from the live video were posted on the Flashback forum, with one of them showing a police officer at the crime scene.
The first post on the online forum during the live broadcast shows a man trying to convince the alleged rape victim, who was described as “totally numb and intoxicated”, to deny that she was sexually attacked.
Moreover, Uppsala police officers did not give any further details on the arrest, Fria Tider reported on Sunday morning.
“Three people have been arrested but otherwise I can’t give any further details,” duty officer Nina Dahlström told Upsala Nya Tidning.
