At least One Pronounced Dead; Multiple Injuries

Two people are feared dead after pedestrians were hit by a white van near a renowned north London mosque, in what is being described as a ‘terrorist attack’.
One man has been arrested but it is feared two more suspects may be on the run after the van ploughed into a crowd outside Finsbury Park Mosque, as they finished taraweeh, Ramadan evening prayers.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing bystanders wrestle the suspect to the floor and pin him down until officers arrived at around 20 past midnight.
Others added that the congregation of victims were trying to save a man who had collapsed at a bus stop, and other unconfirmed reports suggested that the attackers had knives and a man had been stabbed.

Emergency service crews were also spotted trying giving cardiac massages to the injured in a desperate bid to save them.
Mehdi, a 38-year-old worshipper, told the Evening Standard: ‘There were loads of people coming out and the van took a left and went straight into them.
‘I saw four of five people one the floor. At least one person was stabbed.
‘The crowd caught a guy. He tried to do a London Bridge thing.’
Jeremy Corbyn has expressed his shock at the incident, which took place in his Islington North constituency.
He said: ‘I’m totally shocked at the incident at Finsbury Park tonight. I’ve been in touch with the mosques, police and Islington council regarding the incident.
‘My thoughts are with those and the community affected by this awful event.’
Finsbury Park Mosque has undergone wholesale changes under new leader Mohammed Kozbar, since the days when hook-handed Abu Hamza was imam there from 1997 until 2003.
Mr Kozbar told The Sun: ‘Whoever did this, he did it to hurt people and it’s a terrorist attack.
‘We call it a terrorist attack as we called it in Manchester, Westminster and London Bridge.’
Witnesses told MailOnline that they saw two additional suspects run away once the van had stopped.
Atikur Arhman, 41, from Finsbury Park, said: ‘There was three people in there. They caught one and are looking for another two.
‘An elderly man who just came from the mosque, he just fainted and people were picking him up when the van he just sped up and ran them over when the guy was one the floor.
‘People said the driver had a gun with him.
‘It’s not safe anymore after what’s been happening. It’s not been safe to walk.
‘Two people ran away and one got taken away to the police.
Another person saw the horror unfold added: ‘When they stopped two guys run away and with one guy people stopped him.
‘If he’d gone for the main entrance then maybe 15 or 20 would have been killed.’
He added he heard there had been fatalities but did not want to ‘jump to conclusions.’
Fabian Santana, 22, went to a nearby chicken shop before coming out and seeing the carnage unfold.
He said: ‘I went in the chicken shop and my friend was outside, when I come back outside the same guy who was standing next to my friend was on the floor.
‘If I didn’t go in the chicken shop I could have been done for.
‘I just feel like London for the last couple of weeks has not been safe. I’d rather go out of London.
‘One of the attackers looked drunk off his face.
‘Whose going to get in a van and drive straight at Muslims at this time?’
A different anonymous witness said: ‘There was three people beside the van, just one van. One is tall and the other two people ran away.
‘The people finished with the mosque and were going home normally and then the van bumped into them.’

Jamal, 21, told MailOnline: ‘I think it’s terrible what happened in so many locations I don’t know if I’m going to be alive tomorrow, I’m worried what’s going to happen tomorrow, it’s scary
‘It’s not safe in London, total, 100 per cent it is not safe, I’m worried to come out of my house right now, it’s not safe.’
Andrew, a courier who did not wish to give his surname, said he saw three people on the floor and at least one of them appeared to be in Muslim dress.
The 45-year-old, of St Albans, Hertfordshire, said he was driving back from a night shift when he saw the aftermath of the collision.
He said: ‘When I drove past slowly I could count three people on the floor and police were performing CPR on one of them.
‘The guy having CPR performed on him was in a gown, ethnic clothing.’
One resident told how he jumped out of the way as the van struck pedestrians.
The man, who did not want to be named, said: ‘The gentleman went straight down this road, people were just conversing, talking, just doing what we’re doing.
‘And he just came into all of us.
‘There was a lot of people. We got told to move straight away.
‘I was shocked, shocked, shocked. There were bodies around me.
‘Thank God I just moved to the side, I just jumped. Everyone is hurt. Everyone is actually hurt.’
Jennifer Heape said: ‘Apparently a van has ploughed into people coming from Finsbury Park mosque. People are reporting of several injured, some fatalities.
‘Police are escorting people home very calmly. They are making sure people stay indoors.
‘No panic, but it’s very serious. A LOT of helicopters.’
An eyewitness who lives on Seven Sisters Road told the BBC there were people ‘shouting and screaming’.
She added: ‘Everyone was shouting ‘a van’s hit people’.

‘There was this white van stopped outside Finsbury Park Mosque that seems to have hit people who were coming out of the mosque after prayers finished.’
A Metropolitan Police helicopter was seen circling overhead as photographs posted on social media showed a huge response from the emergency services.
Dozens of police cars and vans cordoned off a large area of the normally bustling thoroughfare as stunned locals gathered at the scene.
Images on Twitter appeared to show a clean-shaven white man with black hair being detained by police officers behind a van, surrounded by a group of shouting onlookers.
The vehicle in question appears to have been rented from a company based in Wales, Pontaclun Van Hire.
A woman named Hajal said her sister witnessed the immediate aftermath of the incident.
She told LBC Radio: ‘Everyone was just running everywhere she didn’t realise what was going on at first until she people on the floor.
‘She ran to see first victim and realised it was a family friend.’
‘An old man didn’t have a pulse. Police came and took over. She said it could have been an accident.
‘At first she thought there was some sort of fight. There were 15 to 20 people hitting somebody – she didn’t realise it was the man who ran over the people.
‘She said someone was still under the van but he was breathing. The second [more seriously injured] person was family friend who at first said he couldn’t feel his legs.’
Another person who lives nearby, Ishmael, told the station: ‘I pray there regularly. I’m there right now. There’s a very close friend of mine and in a very bad critical condition.
‘I hear from the other guys that they just stand there and have a coffee.
‘The van drove to there. I had just left the area because I wasn’t feeling very well.
‘One of my friends witnessed it. He told me the van went through the people standing there. 6 or 7 people, and one Asian guy is definitely dead.
‘My friend is in bad critical condition. He was under the van. His head was bleeding.
‘Someone took a video of him. Very shocking video. He’s got family and a wife.
‘The police answered the phone and told me he’s alright. But the other friend they don’t really know his condition. They’re both in ambulances and heading to a London Hospital.
‘Something’s going to happen here one day here. Since that incident I had a feeling something was going to happen to the Mosque. We don’t have no security.
‘This is Ramadan and there was no security at all. Anyone who wants to do anything can come there. If someone wants to kill hundreds they can come there easily.’
Cynthia Vanzella said on Twitter: ‘Horrible to watch police officers doing cardiac massage at people on the floor, desperately trying to save them. I just hope they did.’
Another social media user reported: ‘Islamaphobic attack in Finsbury Park right now. A van swerved off the main road and ran over several Muslim men.’
A Met spokesman said officers were called at 12.20am ‘to reports of a vehicle in collision with pedestrians’.
They added: ‘Officers are on scene with other emergency services. There are a number of casualties being worked on at the scene. There has been one person arrested.’
The incident follows two terrorist attacks in a matter of weeks at Westminster, Manchester and London Bridge.
The Muslim Council of Britain has confirmed that worshippers leaving Finsbury Park Mosque were targeted when a van ran into them, adding: ‘Our prayers are with the victims.’
London Ambulance Service Deputy Director of Operations, Kevin Bate said: ‘We were called at 12.15am to reports of a road traffic collision at Seven Sisters Road.
‘We have sent a number of ambulance crews, advance paramedics and specialist responses teams to the scene. An advance trauma team from London’s Air Ambulance has also been dispatched by car.
‘We are working closely with other members of the emergency services at the scene.
‘Our priority is to assess the level and nature of injuries and ensure those in the most need are treated first and taken to hospital.
‘More information will follow when we have it.’

SUNDERLAND, England: A mother-of-three has allegedly been drugged and raped by a gang of migrants – sparking violent demonstrations.
The 26-year-old said she woke up in a strange house with cuts and bruises, and believes her drink had been spiked on a night out before she was abducted and sexually assaulted.
Police arrested and bailed six men – aged between 20-30 – from Iraq, Syria and Bahrain over the September 4 attack in Sunderland.
Far-right supporters organised a protest six days in the city after the alleged attack which turned violent.
Those on the march, including members of the Sunderland Defence League, met outside The Ivy Leaf Club at 11am on September 10.
They smashed windows at the terraced house where the woman says she was attacked and clashed with a counter protest, led by members of the Asian community.
Police rushed to control the demonstrations which was attended by dozens protesters.
Two Asian men, unconnected with the alleged rape, were injured and five men, all from Sunderland, were arrested for offences including affray.
Philip Hacker, 38, was charged with affray and possessing a controlled drug; Gary Hutchinson was charged with affray; Sean Ruffell, 25, was charged with affray and possessing an offensive weapon; Darren Kerr, 25, was charged with affray and Kevin Sayers, 30, was charged with disorderly conduct.
Sunderland Central MP Julie Elliott last night called for calm.
Southern Area Command Chief Inspector Paul Milner said: ‘We know the woman had been in Sunderland City Centre on Saturday night before waking up in a strange address in Peel Street with cuts and bruises.
‘She managed to leave the house and get to a family member’s home at around 5am on Sunday morning.
‘The victim believes her drink may have been spiked.
‘This is obviously a very serious incident and something we know the local community will be concerned about and we will have officers on patrol to offer reassurance to anyone who may be concerned and answer any queries they may have.’
The six men are on bail until October 17.

Two Typical Muslim Paedophiles..Preying on Our Young Children
by, The Express – UK | h/t Fred Alan Medforth
Ismail Ali, and Naheem Uddin, both 26, abused the child after picking her up in their car as they cruised a city centre looking for a victim.
The sickening rapists “behaved like animals” and ripped her jeans as they yanked them from her legs.
They took photographs of their victim while they abused her then threw her shoes and knickers from the bedroom window before leaving.
The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was left seriously distraught after her horrific ordeal.
Uddin, a married father-of-three from Bradford, was this week convicted at Bradford Crown Court of rape, attempted rape and taking indecent photographs.
Ali, a waiter also from Bradford, was found guilty of two rapes and possession of the indecent photographs which Uddin sent to his phone.
Both men were cleared of kidnap and false imprisonment.
The court heard the pair were roaming the streets of their hometown “looking for sex” when they spotted the vulnerable youngster and persuaded her go with them to the city’s Ibis Hotel with them on the evening of April 18.
Jailing them for 14 years each, Judge David Hatton said: “On that night each of you was out to find sexual satisfaction and you did not care how you obtained it. You saw [the girl] and saw her as your opportunity.”
The court heard how she went willingly with them to the hotel but “she did not volunteer for the vile abuse and degradation that followed”.
The judge added: “You took it in turns to abuse her and each of you behaved like an animal.”
The judge told the court that although the pair did not know the girl was 13, they did not care how old she was.
He said: “You knew that she was very young, and you knew that she was much younger than you.”
David McGonigal, prosecuting, told the court how the child had self harmed since she was attacked and ripped the wallpaper off her bedroom walls.
She felt isolated and needed strong emotional support from her family.
In mitigation for Uddin, it was stated that he had three children by a previous partner and his new wife would now be deported.
Frida Hussain, for Ali, said he was brought up in care and had been working as a waiter before the offences.
Following the case Detective Inspector Jon Best said: “Uddin and Ali subjected their young victim to a horrific ordeal and we welcome the sentences they have been given.
“We would firstly like to praise her for her courage in reporting their horrendous crimes and enabling them to be put before the courts.
“We hope the lengthy sentences will give her some comfort and allow her to move forward.
“Child Sexual Exploitation remains a priority for West Yorkshire Police. It is totally unacceptable and it is the responsibility of all agencies, communities and individuals to identify those responsible and help bring them to justice.”
Just Married and in the UK for Less Than 6 Months and the Child-Raping Begins…
Kamran Ahmed previously touched girl indecently and tried to kiss her
Raped her then said no one would ‘believe a child’ if she told anyone
She eventually confessed to teacher she was assaulted ‘in a dirty way’
Ahmed, 27, was given a ten-year sentence and will likely be deported
by, James Dunn | The Daily Mail – UK | h/t Blazing CatFur
A newly married husband who raped a 12-year-old girl and claimed ‘the devil got him’ as he confessed to his wife has been sentenced to jail for ten years.
Pakistani national Kamran Ahmed, 27, had been in the UK less than six months after marrying a British woman when he had sex with the schoolgirl, pulling off her clothes and telling her ‘I have to do this’.
Ahmed had previously told the girl she was pretty, touched her indecently and tried to kiss her before forcibly raping her, prosecutor Tom Storey told Bradford Crown Court.
Afterwards, he said that no one would believe a child over an adult if she told someone, forcing her to carry the shame alone, which the court heard had a dramatic impact on her school work.
She was too ashamed and embarrassed to tell her Muslim family but eventually confessed to her teacher that she had been assaulted ‘in a dirty way,’ the court heard.
Ahmed, from Thornbury, Bradford, West Yorkshire, later confessed the crime to his British wife, saying ‘the devil had got to him,’ Mr Storey said.
He has now been sentenced to jail for ten years, after he pleading guilty on the day of the trial and will be deported after serving his prison sentence, the Recorder of Bradford, Judge Roger Thomas QC, told him.
Mitigating, Mohammed Ramzan, said his client had also destroyed his own life.
‘The case has had a devastating effect and he is extremely ashamed of his conduct and what he has done,’ he said.
‘He will be deported back to Pakistan after serving his sentence and he will take the shame with him.’
Mr Ramzan conceded that the girl will carry the ‘torture’ with her for the rest of her life.
Judge Thomas said: ‘She was unable to take advantage of counselling because it was too painful and difficult to speak about what had happened, even in such a private setting.’
He told Ahmed: ‘It is impossible to think that the effects of your crime on her will somehow dissipate in any substantial way.
‘One fears that her future years will be very badly affected by what you did to her.’
Ahmed must sign the sex offenders’ register indefinitely.
He will ‘undoubtedly and inevitably’ be deported back to Pakistan, Judge Thomas stated.
The eight-year-old boy was sleeping in an apartment on Gothenburg
A hand grenade exploded after it was thrown yesterday into his bedroom
Police claimed the attack was part of a feud involving Somali criminals
Officers believe the grenade attack was in response to an earlier murder
by, Darren Boyle and Anthony Joseph | The Daily Mail
An eight-year-old British boy was killed after a hand grenade was thrown into his bedroom as part of an underworld feud involving members of a Somali crime gang in Sweden.
Yuusuf Warsame, from Birmingham, was sleeping in the apartment in the working class Biskopsgarden in Gothenburg when the explosive was tossed through the window and detonated.
Investigating police believe the house was targeted as part of a feud involving members of the Somali underworld.
His father Abdiwahid Warsame today confirmed his son, who was visiting relatives in Sweden, had died in the attack, which is being treated as a murder.
Paying tribute to his son he said: ‘He was a lovely boy, a beautiful child. He was so well liked at school and really worked on his education.
‘He wanted to do well in life and not make bad decisions.
‘He was so well behaved, if he saw someone dropping rubbish in the street he couldn’t understand it. He would say: ‘Why are they doing that?’
‘He loved swimming, he was the strongest swimmer. He didn’t like football, swimming was his sport. He loved to play tennis as well.
‘He was just on holiday with his mum and his two brothers.
‘We don’t know why it happened yet, we are waiting for more information.
‘I will be flying out there to find out what has happened. ‘He was just a normal boy with his education ahead of him.’
The father-of-seven said two other people were injured in the blast.
Yuusuf was born in Birmingham and went to Nelson Mandela Primary School in Sparkhill.
His parents, who have Dutch passports, and moved to the UK in 2001 own the Tawfiq Halal Meat and Grocery Shop in the city’s Whitmore Road.
There were at least five children and a number of adults in the apartment when the device exploded.
But another family member said: ‘The room Yuusuf was in when the attack happened, was also occupied by our mother, sister and youngest brother.
‘It is a miracle none of them were badly injured, they only sustained minor injuries.’
A police spokesman said: ‘One of the people registered at this address is a person convicted by a district court for murder.’
The murder and last night’s attack are both believed to be part of an ongoing feud involving members of the Somali community.

In March 2015, armed men burst into a pub in the Biskopsgarden neighbourhood, gunning down a man known to police and an innocent bystander in a spray of bullets.
Eight people were convicted earlier this month for the attack, and handed sentences ranging from seven years to life in prison.
According to local newspaper Goteborgs-Posten, which conducted a lengthy investigation of the vendetta, the pub shooting spree was the culmination of several violent incidents between rival gangs over the drug market.
While Sweden is generally a peaceful, safe country with low crime rates, police have had difficulty addressing violence in poorer neighbourhoods in Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmo.
In recent years, there have been grenade attacks, shootings and incidents of car arson.
The issue has been one of the main topics of Sweden’s political debate this summer, as cars have been torched in the neighbourhoods on an almost nightly basis.
The centre-right opposition has called for 2,000 more police officers to be hired, while the leftwing government has proposed a series of crime prevention measures.
